Office Cleaning Checklist

Every task an office cleaning contract usually covers, room by room, with how often each one is done.

How to use it

  • Cross out what you don't need and add anything special to your building.
  • Attach it to your janitorial RFP, and give every company the same copy so the proposals price the same work.
  • Walk through the building with each company using it, and keep it as the scope in the contract.

Price these separately if you need them:

  • Washing dishes
  • Moving or cleaning under papers on desks
  • Daytime restroom checks, which need a day porter
  • Windows above the ground floor, usually a separate window company

Worth knowing

  • Most offices with 10 or more people are cleaned five nights a week. Smaller offices often do well with two or three.
  • Ask who holds your keys and alarm codes, and how they're returned if the contract ends.
