Warehouse Cleaning Checklist

A cleaning scope for a warehouse or light industrial building: the offices and restrooms every visit, the warehouse floor on its own schedule.

How to use it

  • Cross out what you don't need and add anything special to your building.
  • Attach it to your janitorial RFP, and give every company the same copy so the proposals price the same work.
  • Walk through the building with each company using it, and keep it as the scope in the contract.

  • Chemical or hazardous spills
  • Cleaning inside racking or on product
  • Work above about 12 feet without a lift
  • Parking lot and yard sweeping

Worth knowing

  • Ask whether the crew follows your site safety rules: protective gear, forklift traffic and lockout areas.
  • Agree who owns and maintains the floor scrubber. A ride-on scrubber cleans a large floor in a fraction of the time.
